Brei's Birthday

Sunday birthday call for simplicity. Sweet Lauren delivered cookies for me, which was a fun surprise the day before. I made my cake this year and it looked horrendous, but tasted great. Better for mine to be an ugly blob than one of the kiddos. ;)

Baseball Wrap Up for Linc

Poppi & Gigi came from Lincoln's last t-ball game. He is very ready for coach pitch! He loved being the last hitter so he could run all the bases and he loved stealing bases, which he did pretty much every time up to bat (go 1-2/3rd every time). At one point, the coach was telling the kiddos where to run and he said, "Lincoln, you just do what you always do."

There was one time this season he really struggled at bat. He kept missing the ball and it must have be 10-12 times before he finally got a hit. Later that week at school, a kid on his team asked him, "remember that kid that couldn't hit the ball in our game?" to which Lincoln cheerfully replied, "That was me!!" Aside from that struggle, the kid killed it this season.

Ranch Trip

With this being an annual event, the pictures pretty much tell the tale. There were a few significant events to highlight with this particular trip.

I got to mow the golf greens and couldn't have been happier. The lawn mower is a steer with the bars and made crazy sharp turns, but I got the hang of it eventually. Brielle joined me on a few holes and we had a grand ol' time.

I was struggling with serving when playing ping pong. Lehi had this phrase on repeat for me: Paddle, table, table, NOT table, paddle, table

Brielle got sick one of the night and was throwing up. None of us slept and it was rough. We debated leaving early in the morning, but also didn't love the idea of her throwing up in the car while driving home. We kept her quarantined our room for the day (she was such a good sport), luckily she didn't throw up any more and felt much better the next day.

Mav & Linc loved the movies: Small Soldiers and The Rescuers Down Under

Campfire Songs: Tim the Tinker, A tootie To Toot, Animal Fair (among others)

Games Played: Animal Zoo, Rock paper scissors, Are you Nemo

Derek Boyles Football Camp

Maverick went to a football camp hosted by NFL Derek Boyles (Broncos). He is a Lehi native and put on a free clinic with other NFL players and lots of college players helping out. Naturally, Mav's favorite station was the Snow Cone break. They fed the kiddos dinner and did a signing. Some of the notable players there included: Cody Barton (Seahawks LB) Jaconson Barton (OT, Radiers #26), Bronson Kaufusi (Packers, TE) and Calvin Anderson (OT, Broncos). Lincoln was too young to participate, but they gave him a shirt and meal while we waiting. It was so well organized and executed!

Date w/Mom

Maverick and I went to support his friend, Tyson in his play. It was similar to Jurassic World, but based in SLC with lots of puns. Maverick loved it. At the beginning of the show, they asked if anyone was attending to celebrate anything and Maverick said his hand and said "It was my mom's birthday a few weeks ago!" So he was invited on stage and they sang Happy Birthday to him for me. He thought that was pretty cool.

Date w/Dad

Lehi took Lincoln to Nickle Arcade followed by some ice cream. Linc used his hard earned tickets on an inflatable ninja he was so excited to show Maverick.

Swimming & Basketball Camps

Both boys did some swim lessons this year. They loved it. The one-on-one instructors were awesome. Maverick had a goal at the beginning to go down the slide, which he did on repeat each lesson.
Maverick also did a Skyridge basketball camp with Thomas and Ethan. He liked it, but didn't love it. The boys got separated a lot, which I think he was bummed about.
Lincoln also did a Skyridge basketball camp and absolutely loved it. It was fun seeing him play (which is saying something because I was usually wrestling Brielle/Maddie the whole time).

Lehi City Days

We went to our first Lehi City Days (parade). We learned we needed to bring bags for each of the kiddos, they got so many trinkets and candy. We filled up the compartment on Lehi's camping chair armrest as well as hats/shirts. There was the sweetest older couple sitting next to us that would run out into the street with the kids and then give them all the candy--especially Brielle.

Oaklee Rodeo

Alex's family goes to the Oaklee rodeo often and invited us to come along. Uncle Matt is staying with us on and off (depending on work schedule) so we asked it he would like to come along. Oaklee still has the small town feel and it absolutely beautiful. There were some pretty thick and dark thunderclouds that rolled their way in and through the rodeo grounds, so we were cold and wet, but still had a great time. We had a babysitter for Madeline, which I was really grateful for. Unfortunately, the bulls outdid all the cowboys, with not a single rider making to the 7 second mark. It was crazy. The boys thought it was all so cool. They did a really awesome firework show at the end that left you loving America!
