Massage Line

We have a late church, so sometimes we are ready a bit before we have to leave. In fact, Maverick gets dresses first thing in the morning, totally unprompted by me. This particular Sunday, I asked Lehi for massage. Quickly, Maverick relayed his need for one and sat in front of me, which naturally lead to Lincoln feeling some tension in his shoulder, too. Eventually, we bumped Lincoln to the back so Dad could get in on the action a bit as well.

Maverick's selfie game is strong.

Monster Golf

Again, Pogo-passes for the win. I am not sure if you would call what transpired here put-put golf, but it was some version of it. Lincoln took a tomahawk approach to his puts while Maverick adopted a "sweeping the floor" motion. It was a great family activity and a great way to prep us for Halloween.

Ship-lap Project

I like to start projects when Lehi is gone so he can't complain about them. This month proved to be the most opportune because of two trips planned this month. Thank goodness for Andrew being willing to help me out. He is always so willing to lend a hand (and usually do the majority of the work). I made sure to get all the prep-work done that I could; which included the Jorgensen family helping strip the boards down to the right width. It took Andrew and I a ton of time due to all the complex cuts and curing a circular saw for the majority of the project, but I love love love how it turned out. The boys were quick to help me paint (I gave them paint brushes with no paint and let them work on a side I already did with their imagination ;)) and hand me tools when needed. It brightened up this room so much and I was able to learn the process so next time, I can do it myself!

"Cheerful Giver"

Maverick has a lesson in church this month about being a "cheerful giver." His sweet teachers gave him this smiley face to leave after he did a service for someone in the family. For the next week, the smiley face would be passes from person to person as we served one another. Maverick knew we left the house without my bed being made and announced in his class that he was going to sneak up stairs as soon as we got home and make my bed. He was super giggly and excited when he came back downstairs and said, "Mom, you better go look in your room!"He did a pretty awesome job for a 5 year-old tackling a king size bed!

Bro-Trip of 2019

Lehi had his Bro-trip this month, with Salt Lake City Comi-con being one of the highlights. The boys bought Pogo-pass equivalents along with their Comi-con tickets and planned on knocking out as much on the pass as they could. I think they were pretty successful, from Lagoon to Axe throwing, they packed in the weekend! I am happy he has such good friends and he is able to have so much fun with them on their annual Bro-trip! (He took way more pictures, but these summarize things nicely).

Oh. And he got me a pound of Sees candy while he was there. :)

Florida Meets Lehi

Lehi also went on a business trip to a conference in Florida. Since it was mostly a 9-5 ordeal with work, that meant a decent amount of time exploring. They hit up Disney World, where we Facetimed him while he was watching a Star Wars show...the boys were entrawled and must have watched from Lehi's phone for a solid 15 minutes. Lehi also went on a yacht the last night and did a cruise around the bay area. He's so fancy. ;)

Gym FHE

We have been very diligent about going to the gym. I know my recovery after pregnancy will be so much better the more active I am during pregnancy, and there are a ton of studies stating the benefits of physical activity during pregnancy. So I have been hauling my very round self there consistently. We went at a busier time and found a wait for the child care area. So we parked on a bench and waited. Maverick had a great idea of doing FHE, right there on the bench. Since he was in charge, we let him take it. I was actually rather impressed what he pulled off, in the middle of the gym, on a bench. He told us stories about Jesus and then asked if we could sing a primary song. We waited on the song until we were in the car and on the way home, since that might be a bit awkward, but it was a great activity and lesson, from the mouth of our sweet babe!

Quotes from the Boys:

Maverick: "Mom? When you die, do you want to go to heaven with me?"
"Of course I want to go to heaven with you"
"....ok you will come when Jesus wants you."

(Along the same string of conversation with Maverick): "Mom, since I am older than Lincoln, does that mean I will die before him?"

Lincoln: I a hurricane. (randomly, in the car with Lehi)

Maverick (after me apologizing for being so grumpy one day): "I know sometimes you get angry when you have a baby in your tummy. Not all the time, but sometimes."

Me: "Lincoln, I love you so much."
Lincoln: (pause) "Mom, I lov you a itt it." (a little bit).
