Lincoln is Three

Lincoln is his own little person, all while being his big brother's shadow. He is Mr. Independent, dressing himself, bucking his car seat, getting snacks, etc. Lincoln wants to do it all himself and will often exclaim, "No, I do it!" He is also extremely silly and has the best belly laugh. He adores Maverick and loves playing with him. For the most part, he will just go along with what Maverick wants, but he will stand up for himself, too.

Lincoln asked for a Pokemon cake, bike and books for his birthday this year, which I think summarizes him pretty nicely.

He is still struggling with his speech as far as pronouncing things go. He certainly talks a lot more since we started speech therapy, but he leaves off the beginning sounds for 99% of his words...and the last sound.  Lehi and I have gotten pretty good at understanding his little language, but every once in awhile he will stump us with something we just can't figure out. The hard thing is, the kid is smart, and will practically demand you speak back what he said so he knows you understand. So casually playing off whatever he said with "ok buddy" just doesn't cut it for him (darn it!)

Since Lincoln's birthday happened to fall on Maverick's first day of school, we celebrated a little early to keep the two events separate, but exciting and special. We took him to pick out a bike and helmet (Mav got lucky and got a helmet, too, because he needed a new one). Our trip to Walmart also included some catching practice with Lehi.

We loaded up Lincoln's new bike, along with Maverick's and went to the church parking lot to get some practice in. He is still trying to get the hang of keeping his feet on the petals and going in a circle, but he is making progress--it will click soon!

Sunday was ice cream, cake, and cousins. The perfect combination.
I didn't see Lincoln in his bed when I went in early to put in some balloons, then this caught my eye.
