Stories

PJs on wrong

Maverick is the squirm king when it comes to changing of any kind: diapers, clothes, etc. Well, in a rush to put Maverick's PJs on, dad realize one of his legs was on his arm, along with the normal arm.

Encore! Encore!

Maverick was mooching off my lunch of quesadilla--as usual. When we had consumed the masterpiece,he started to bang on my plate. I laughed and said, "You're amazing! Encore!" He would get a HUGE smile, start banging away again, stop, wait until I said, "Encore!" again, and continue. We did this for a few minutes and it ended with him laughing so hard he fell over.

Balloon Pop

For the Superbowl, I had a bunch of balloons in the space between the cupboards and the ceiling in our apartment. I pulled them all down when it was time for clean up...Maverick was in baby heaven. I slowly began decapitating the balloons one by one, without him noticing. Soon, all the balloons were deflated. Maverick looked around at the rubber cemetery and began crying. Lucky for me, I snapped a picture while he was as happy as could be.

Lehi and I are both taking online classes (undergraduate and masters, respectfully). With online classes often comes online meetings. When I have mine, Lehi takes Maverick to one of the back bedrooms and keeps him contained until I am done. I do the same for him. When Dad's voice carries particularly well, Maverick will go to the door, crying. Then he will put his head on the floor, and try to see where Dad is through the crack above the floor.Sometimes this action is complete with his little fingers protruding through the space between the door and floor.

Superbowl

Our little apartment was PACKED for the Superbowl this year. It was so much fun. We went all out (as usual) with 48 "wings" (Lehi uses drumsticks), complete with a "snack stadium"-- turkey and roast beef sandwiches, tons of chips and dips, and a ridiculous selection of desserts. (Lehi was VERY dismayed when I told him I used the majority of his ice cream sprinkles in the rice crispies so they looked more like people in the crowd.) I made a photo booth backdrop and had props to take our Superbowl 2015 picture with family and for friends. With 13 adults and 4 babies, it was a little crazy but so much fun! For half time we brought out the remote robo-bumper cars my dad had given us a few years back for Christmas and had epic robo-battles. (When you hit the right spot on the car, the rider is expelled from it) Side note: Maverick popped his first balloon (he bawled), it was hilarious.
