Freezer Meal Blessings
Truth be told....I have been miserably sick this pregnancy. It has been terrible. I haven't throw up, but the constant nausea makes it hard to function. Smells especially trigger the "I want to heave my guts out" feeling of doom, which makes cooking oh so much fun. Sweet Heather happened to text me, asking what she and her YW companion could do to minister to me. I swallowed my pride and told her some freezer meals would be amazing. Heather brought some by and her companion Kinley Burr brought more, and then Erin Christensen left some on my doorstep. I was totally blown away with the love at attention of these darling angels who helped to eliminate the mom guilt of not being able to function like you want to.
I took a picture that captured all the generosity and kindness and sent it to Ronnie, saying how loved and spoiled I felt. She texted back and said, "well, I bought you a dinner, too." We both laughed at the comparison, but I was equally grateful for them. Ronnie was also just getting out of the pregnancy phase I was currently weeping over.
Great Grandma Goes Home
Lehi was able to fly out to PA for Grandma's home funeral and for her burial. The kids and I were able to Zoom in for the funeral where Lehi shared some beautiful words about how supportive Grandma was, for him and all her grandchildren. He pulled a lot of quotes from letters she had written while he was serving in Madagascar. While preparing, he made the comment about how he wished he would have continued to write her e-mails after he came home. It was a powerful reminder to both he and I to always remember to reach out to the people that we love. The last couple of pictures are from/of the Jack farm.
Valentine's Day
One of my favorite sayings I heard while at a BYU-I devotional as a freshman. Sister Bednar quoted someone from her past who said, "Always be where you need to be, when you need to be there." This Valentine's Day, it was Pennsylvania for Lehi.
I got the boys a small Valentine that was waiting for them on the couch when they woke up (along with a few fun things from Aunt Lynnae who is so sweet to think of them). We had pink crepes for breakfast. and picked up my Cold Stone Valentine's Cake--Lehi acquired the tradition this year. All the sisters banded together and pretty much bullied Dad into letting our husbands take over.
Lehi still managed to surprise me and make me feel special when I opened our door to Alex standing there with a box of Sees. Bless her heart for going to that store the weekend of Valentine's Day for Lehi AND delivering to to me. Seriously, she is such an amazing friend. I told Lehi he owed her big time! The boys and I ran some M&M's with tic-tac-toe cards to my ministering families. For dinner, I had the boys add toppings to their individual heart shaped pizzas. We missed Lehi, but filled the day with small and simple fun and time together.
Snow Day
The boys were so stoked for some legit snow. It has been a super mild winter, with little white substance that makes the boys giddy with excitement. We had a few days with light snow (which they happily gathered from all corners of the yard into one big pile) but it was mostly gone by the afternoon. This snow day, the boys played outside all.day.long. Lincoln learned how to make a snow angel--which he did by flapping only his arms, forgetting to move his legs. They made a snowman with Lehi along with having an epic snowball fight. Don't worry, I wasn't being a lame mom, hunkered down in the warm house all this time. I introduced them to snow ice cream, which I was reprimanded for by calling it so. Lehi said it was just "snow cream." (My Instagram pull was pretty much a 50/50 split). Bottom line, it was a great day.
Dinosaur Museum
Ronnie and I took the kids for a quick visit. Naturally the boys were drawn to any and all screens in the place--at least they were all educational. The displays were pretty awesome and fun to see. In one part of the museum, there is a dark tunnel, lit with small lights that you walk through. Maverick was a little apprehensive while Lincoln shouted, "It's like Star Wars, Mom!" They spent most of their time playing in the sand with the dinosaur figurines, building dams and such, having a grand-ol-cousin time. We ended the play with some kiddie ice cream cones, which by some miracle, none of them spilled/dropped.
The Soup Drop
It's pretty great having such a thoughtful aunt that lives close by. Not only did she spoil my kids with Valentine's treats, she showed up one evening with some homemade chicken noodle soup, because she heard that I was feeling pretty sick with this baby. When I answered the knock on my door, I was surprised to see her and noticed she looked a little frazzled. She said, "I just dumped a bunch of soup in your driveway, how is that for a visit?" When she went to take the bowl out of her back seat, it slipped out of her hands and landed, just right, lid side down. The problem was she had to pick that bowl up and the lip popped off as she was doing so. What are the chances. Luckily, there was still plenty of rescued soup! We chatted for a few minutes, during which she handed me a fork that she asked me to return it to Ronnie. "I ate a brownie with it and accidentally took it with me. So now I dump soup in people's driveways and steal their forks." Man, I love that lady! She insisted on me getting my hose so she could clean it, but I countered, insisting that Goose would love to be on clean up and the boys could throw some water on it.

Quotables:
Maverick: "Mom. I'm out of socks."
Me: "Well, I don't know how you are out of socks."
...a few minutes pass...Maverick comes into my room, dragging his laundry basket. "This might answer your question."
Watching Oliver & Company as a family. During the opening scene where people are picking the kittens out of the box, I asked, "Mav, which kitten would you pick?"
His response: "None of them. I like dogs."
Linc winning a board game...for the 3rd time in a row vs Lehi
Lincoln made the mistake of trying to share his RingPop with Brielle. She bit it and claimed it as her own. Mav also hurt his neck at school, so Linc was voluntarily acting as his walker.
