We decided to get out of the house, explore our new home, and visit San Antonio. Since Maverick is starting to make animal sounds and loves to "woof woof" back at any dogs in the neighborhood, we thought he would love a trip to the Zoo. Now, this makes for an easy blog post for me, because it pretty much just have to upload pictures (woot woot)! The weather couldn't have been better, Maverick loved looking at the animals and gave us great reactions, (he liked the settings/waterfalls just as much we are pretty sure), we ate cotton candy, rode a train (Maverick is currently obsessed with "choo choos" and airplanes), and took a ton of pictures. These ones pretty much consist of our cute little kid, I will save all the animal pictures for the animal book I will be making for him.

| Please see paragraph below on this little monkey |
So, this monkey (he looked like a shadow here) was a hoot (and strangely reminded us of another little monkey we know all to well). Momma monkey is clearly enjoying the sun, taking a little nap, attempting to relax. Her crazy son, would swing around in the tree, and then suddenly drop down and try to land on mom. Then he would climb up again, and repeat the process. Clearly, he was waiting for a wake-her-up-bomb-jump. Even monkey mommas don't get to relax.

| This lepord was putting on a show for us. She would walk back and forth from either end of the habitat, making fellow zoo-goers at 3 different windows shot in surprise. |
| Maverick trying to find the snake |
| Carousal Ride! He would say, "Wee" when the hippo would go up, although his overall facial expressions showed he was indifferent to the whole process. (Until it was time to get off, then he voiced his desire to stay atop the hippo) |
| Thinking he is pretty cool stuff. |
| Clearly, it was nap time for most of the cat family. |
| All of our "cat" pictures look like this. |
| But these guys were awesome! |

| I would call today a success. |
We decided the Zoo is something we want to do at least once a year. It is a pro that so many other things to do are all within walking distance as well. Great parks, Japanese gardens, historical sites, and some BBQ that we really wanted to try.
So while I was mad at Lehi for not stopping to let me fill the gaping hole in my growling stomach on the way home, today was a great family day!
