January 2018

It was a pretty quiet month so not much to blog here, and that is ok! :)

Maverick went into Sunbeams

And he did it without batting an eyelash. I think it helped that he was one of the oldest kiddos in nursery and was ready to make the transition. He cried a little in the car because he was sad to not see Brother & Sister Bahr, but we assured him that he would still see them at church. When it came to drop him off, he went right into the primary room, sat down, and waved goodbye to us. He was so excited to show us his super awesome crown when we picked him up at his classroom. We also fulled out this super fun "get to know you" form. It look us practically all day because Maveick was reluctant to answer the questions in one go, so Lehi and I would randomly ask one throughout the day.

Lehi and the Lovells

Lehi jumped on a plane to AZ to drive to UT with the Lovell brothers to hit the mountains for the weekend. We missed him a lot, but he had a lot of fun.

More Smores

For Christmas, Uncle Matt gave us a smore maker. Maverick was biting at the bit from the day he opened it to use it for Family Night, so we did. Lincoln liked to put the marshmallows in his mouth and put them back, so we had to look out for the wet ones. For weeks after this picture, Maverick would say, "I have an idea of what to do for family night! We can...make smores!"

Damon Double

I started a new semester teaching a UTSA and decided to have a little fun on the ever-so-boring "syllabus"day of class. As I was doing a short self-introduction, I casually told my students I married Matt Damon (and showed a picture). Then I showed a picture of Lehi. The gasps were hilarious. I think I decided a beginning-of-the-semester tradition.

Fly Eagles Fly --Going to the Superbowl!

The play off game was practically another holiday in our home. We all sported our Eagles gear, screamed in excitement, yelled in anger, jumped up and down, and giddy laughed when they won 38 to 7 over the Minnesota Vikings! ...I may have started shopping for party supplies for the Superbowl game as soon as the game was over...

Tree Trimmer

Maverick noticed that our tree in the front yard was looking particularly barren one morning. He looked at me and exclaimed, "Who stole our leaves???" It took some time to explain to him that leaves just fall off in the fall/winter.

Other January Pictures

Lincoln loves What-a-burger, like his Dad. He liked eating everyone's fries except his own.

Playing with the Spiderman Web Shooter from Uncle Jared & Aunt Amanda

Maverick was snuggling with his Christmas scooter during the bedtime story

This is usually how "Give your brother a hug, it's time to go to sleep" looks like.

Patiently waiting for us to make some decisions during our Ikea trip

Since the Westensee family were in UT for Christmas, they got to open presents late at our house

Tayson was not too excited to take a picture

Brotherly love.

Lincoln chowing down on Tasha's cinnamon rolls

If you look closely, you can find two feet connected to a little body, with two eyes that should be closed but are watching Mom & Dad's show instead.

Chewy PJs with "Teddy"

Sometimes, you are still mad and Mom & Dad, but you are tired.

He was in a super good mood!

This kid loves wearing Lehi's Eagle hats
